Frequently Asked Questions
A few of the things people ask most, before their first call. If yours isn’t here, reach out any time.
Therapy Specifics
-
Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. This time allows us to explore your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards your mental health goals.
-
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients see progress in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We will tailor the therapy process to fit your unique situation.
-
In the first session, we will get to know each other and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. We will talk about your goals, any challenges you are facing, and begin to outline a plan for moving forward. This session is also a great time to ask any questions you may have.

Getting Started
-
It's completely normal to feel apprehensive about starting therapy. We can start by chatting over text to discuss your concerns, and then have a short video call to see if we are a good fit. I'm here to support you every step of the way.
-
Finding the right therapist is important. We can start with a free consultation call to discuss your needs and goals and see if we are a good fit. I am here to support you and make you feel comfortable throughout the process.
-
Yes. I believe therapy should honor the whole person—including your cultural background, identity, values, spirituality, and lived experiences. You never have to leave these parts of yourself at the door.
I provide culturally responsive, inclusive care and create a space where you can explore what matters most to you without judgment or assumptions. If spirituality or faith is meaningful to you, we can thoughtfully incorporate it into our work in a way that feels authentic and supportive of your healing.
Emergencies & Additional support
What should I do if I have an emergency between sessions?
If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also contact a crisis hotline for immediate support. For non-emergency situations, feel free to reach out to me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
